To make ends meet, people in the US are working longer hours across multiple jobs, resulting in an unexpected phenomenon: the flourishing of 24-hour daycare centers. Bronx-based Afro-Latina DJ, filmmaker, and film executive Loira Limbal explores the personal cost of our modern economy through the stories of two working mothers and a child care provider whose lives intersect at one of these centers. An intimate work of cinema verité, Through the Night is both a condemnation of our merciless economy and a love letter to single mothers and caregivers.
A Theatrical Q&A with April Reign, Creator #OscarsSoWhite, will play following the film.
